Funny Colby Story

"Shoes Fit for Heaven"

On Sunday morning after the kids got out of the bath, I had them get back into regular clothes because we have afternoon church this year. Colby put on a shirt and pants and then came out with his white socks and new sneakers, which he has had to wear every day, of course. I told him that he didn't need socks and shoes yet because we were going to church and he'd be wearing his church socks and black shoes. He said, "I wanna wear these shoes today!" I told him he couldn't because we had to wear our nicest clothes to church, and he said that these are nice clothes and he wants to wear them. So I explained that on Sundays, to church, we wear our very best clothes to show Jesus that we love Him. Colby looked down at his shoes and then back at me and absolutely seriously said, "Jesus will love these shoes!"
I didn't really know how to answer him, but I said that, yes, I'm sure Jesus would love his new shoes, but they're still not the kind we wear to church. I'm just grateful that I didn't have to get him dressed for church for another couple hours after that, because I think at that moment I wouldn't have known how to win, but by 12:30 he'd forgotten about it. :-)

That's cute! I probably would have just let him win that one! That's to cute to say no too! Bailey's dance was really cute! Tanner liked watching it! But yeah, hard to see her sometimes

What a cute kid! I laughed at his little comment. How genuine our children are. This is a great story that he will have to be retold all of his life! Loved it!

Amber,

Yeah Dallin was born with kidney problems. He had surgery at 8 months and has been doing just fabulous ever since! We just have to have check ups to make sure his kidneys are still functioning ok. Thanks for the thoughts!
