Snacktime

Last week I bought a couple six-packs of Hershey's chocolate bars for Bailey to give her teachers at school and for us to take camping. I just set them on top of the microwave, knowing that I'd need to give them to Bailey Friday morning.
Thursday morning my mom called and asked me to help her update her blog, so I was on the phone and the computer for over a half hour trying to talk her through her changes. Jonathan was out working for the BLM, so Colby was just kind of doing his own thing while I was on the phone. I saw him go in the kitchen and then heard some plastic rustling noises, but assumed he was just getting some chips or crackers or something. (For the sake of my sisters' comments, I should add right here that this was late morning--he'd had breakfast--and I did yell at him to get out of the kitchen, but he didn't obey, and I was too busy helping my mom to worry about it, and I figured he couldn't be doing any damage.) When Jonathan got home I got off the phone so we could spend some time together, so he and I walked into the kitchen at about the same time and found this:

That's right, Colby had dragged a chair into the kitchen and pulled down one of the Hershey's six packs. The plastic wrapping was in the garbage, as well as the individual wrappings for SIX HERSHEY'S CHOCOLATE BARS! On the table, side by side, were 4 and 3/4 chocolate bars. If you look closely at Colby's face, you'll see where the other 1 and 1/4 disappeared to! Jonathan was right in front of me and started to growl at him, but as soon as I saw the table, I just laughed out loud! (And it felt way better than getting mad, I tell you what!) When Jonathan asked him what he was doing, his answer was, "Getting a snack." I love kids!
