8 Adventurous Years!

Last week Jonathan and I celebrated our 8th anniversary. He was still sick, I'm still recovering from surgery, and we had to have Brycen with us, so we weren't exactly in a position to do any major celebrating, but we did go out to dinner while my brother, Cliff, watched the 2 older kids. Based on Cliff's high recommendations, we decided to try out the Ninja grill here in town, and we're so glad we did! We chose the Hibachi menu, so we had our very own, very entertaining chef who made some awesome food! We chose the "Hibachi for 2" meal, and we couldn't believe how much food it included: broth, salad, steak, chicken, shrimp, veggies, rice, filet mignon, ice cream....it was definitely worth the money and such an enjoyable meal. We don't often spend that much on dining out, and when we do I usually regret it, but this was worth every penny. We loved it! (I'm sad that I didn't think to take my camera along--no pictures!) We're hoping to have a little getaway later in the summer where we can spend some more time together and have time to really relax--with Brycen in tow, of course--but in the mean time, we had a fun little anniversary date!

A lot can happen in 8 years.......
Jonathan and I have been through 10 homes (including living with both sets of parents!), 8 cars, and 3 states since we got married, and counting! We've had 14 jobs, 7 years of college, 6 surgeries, 5 cross-country drives, 8 credit cards, one dog (for a day), and a handful of fish. We have 3 kids, who required a total of about 10 months of bed rest (half of that very strict)--but worth every minute, of course!

We're hoping that things will start to slow down now that he's graduated and I'm done having babies, but who knows what the Lord has in mind? All I know is that there's no one else I'd rather have been through it all with, and I'm ready to take on whatever comes next, as long as Jonathan's by my side. He's my sweetheart, and I love him more than anything on earth, and I never get tired of having him around. I read friends' blogs about the girl vacations they take with their friends and all the fun they have, and it sounds wonderful, but all I can think is that I'd rather do all that with my husband. I got better than the man of my dreams--I got the perfect man for me. I love you, Honey! And I love our family!
(Trying to find a picture of the 2 of us for this blog made me realize that we need to be together in front of the camera more often!)

Here's to being a little more settled in the next 8 years.... if that's what you both want.
