Just a brief catch-up on the random things we've been doing this summer......

Colby came in one afternoon to show me what he'd done with his hair. I looked at it, and it looked all spiky, which he's done before, because he loves using Jonathan's gel. I said, "Oh, you put gel in it again. Looks good!" But then he said, "Look at the top." So I looked closer and then gasped! He'd leveled the top/front of his head! I asked him what he did it with, and he brought me Jonathan's hair scissors and his whisker trimmer tool. Needless to say, I had Jonathan give him a buzz that night. We buzzed him last year, but his head is so big it looked silly, so I didn't want to do it again this year, but he gave us no choice. Fortunately, he seems to have grown into his body a little, because it doesn't look so silly this time.

Hanging out and watching T.V.

Bailey finally mastered riding her bike without training wheels only a couple days after I posted that she was still working on it. I took her out myself one evening, and she had it down (after a couple of prayers) within 10 minutes. Now she's on her bike
constantly!

Bouncy-ball thingamajiggers on a trampoline.....Every kids dream!

One evening we took a drive up the road by our house to the C-Trail. I've always wanted to see all the cabins up there that I admire distantly from down in our front yard. It's gorgeous up there--and such an amazing view!

Jonathan has been getting more and more into mountain biking lately, so he took his bike up with us and then said he'd meet me back at the house and headed down the trail! He said it was pretty intense at times, and he even crashed once, but he made it, and he enjoyed it!

Brycen turned 4 months old a few weeks ago, so we got the official go-ahead for solids. He seems perfectly happy sticking with Momma's milk for now, but I thought we'd try just for kicks. My mom stopped in on her way home from girls' camp, so I had her hold him while I fed. He was so excited, his legs were kicking and his arms were flailing, so I got the camera and filmed it, but of course by then he'd calmed down a bit and I missed the good part. (Plus, last time I added a movie it took waaaayyy too long to upload.)

I thought he was older than 4 months? :) anyhow cute cute...he'll sleep a lot more if you'll get some cereal in his belly before bed. That's my favorite part about solids. SLEEP!
That is a pretty view....I love to bike too, but since Jonathan doesn't have one and he is to paranoid to let me leave the neighborhood alone- I don't ride much. Tell Jonathan to come down so we can ride up at Red Rock! :)
