Trick-or-Treat!!!

Last night, of course, was Halloween, so I took the kids trick-or-treating! Jonathan had a study group at first, but when he got back we hit a few more spots, like Uncle Cliff's and Aunt Barb's! After only the first 2 houses, Colby looked in his bag and then looked up at me and said, with a surprised tone, "I like Halloween!"
Colby was Spider-Man, like about 50% of the boys last night, but he was happy about it. Bailey was "Rainbow Fairy Princess Barbie Elina," in other words, the girl from Magic of the Rainbow. She saw the movie a few weeks ago and immediately decided she had to be Elina, since rainbow is her favorite color. :-) So last night I got her all dressed up and even put lipstick in her hair so she'd have the pink highlights like the doll. She was posing all night and loved showing off her costume. When I kept stopping to visit at every house, she said, in her most matter-of-fact/motherly tone, "Mom, we are trick-or-treating. You can't talk to anybody else. We get the candy, and then we go." And boy, did she hold me to it! At one point she was 2 houses ahead of me and the group we ended up walking with for a bit, which consisted of Lisa Taylor's fam and the Pughs! Wow, Bailey was excited to be out with her teacher!
By the end of the night each kid only had maybe a couple pounds of candy in the bottom of their bags, but that's more than enough for them, especially because the bowl we had at home was barely touched!

I seriously love Halloween. It definitely is a tight second for me. But the whole being thankful of Thanksgiving out ways the candy! Well for the most part! HAHA!

P.s. The kids looked so cute!

sounds like you guys had fun, you didn't have many trick r treaters then? Was a lot of houses not handing out candy either? We had so many- I went through 4 bags of candy and had to turn the light off.

They look so cute. I will have to show Tanner Colby's outfit when he wakes up. I don't know how he knows who spiderman is... but he would point to the ones here and say, "Spiderman" and get all excited!
