After he got home from preschool that day I decided to go ahead and give him his family gift, so that he could play with it during the day. He'd been wanting his own set of big kid Lego's, so he was way excited with this gift!
For his birthday he wanted to have a basketball party, and thanks to Mrs. Teel, the principal, we were able to have one in the elementary gym! We invited about 10 boys and basically just set them loose for awhile with the basketballs. I tried a few games, but I've always found that just letting kids play tends to be more successful at this age and younger.
These were my attempt at basketball cupcakes. The black icing was out of a tube (store-bought) and a little too runny! We also served hot dogs (Colby's favorite), chips, and juice boxes.
The kids were all sooo excited to give Colby their presents that it was hard to keep them contained at this point. He received so many great gifts that I'm afraid he was spoiled! Thanks, boys!
It was fun to see all the little boys (and Bailey) with their tough-guy basketball-star poses. I think everyone had fun! I know Colby did!
