The Kids' First Deer Hunting Trip

My dad had a deer tag this year, so he asked Jonathan if he wanted to go out with him one afternoon to look at some bucks he'd already seen with my mom. I asked if the kids and I could go along, and Dad was happy to let us. The kids were very excited, so we had to keep reminding them to be extra quiet. Long story short, we knew there would be bigger bucks than this one--my dad had seen a handful himself--but he decided to go for this one while we had the kids with us, so they could see it happen, and they loved it.

At first Colby was scared to touch him, but once he got the nerves,
he gave us his bravest manly face.

Jonathan and my dad cleaned it out before we took it home.

At one point, right after dumping the smelly stuff, they needed Colby to help out (I couldn't because I had Brycen), and he and Bailey were both grossing out from the smell.

Thanks, Grandpa, for letting us go along--especially since it meant not getting something bigger!
