Prego Update

OK, so I need to apologize for a technical error. Last week when the doctor told me I had "posterior placenta," I came home and looked it up on the internet and read that it was the same as placenta previa. Because I'm more familiar with that term--and, frankly, I think it's easier to say--I've been using it instead of the original term. Yesterday, however, I had a follow-up ultrasound and asked the nurse about it, who said that while my situation is very serious and requires strict bed rest, it's not the same, nor nearly as dangerous, as placenta previa. So that's good news, I guess! (And in the future I'll know to pay more attention to the medical value of websites I come across--I think I read that in a prego chat room, if I'm totally honest.)

In happier news, the ultrasound showed a healthy heartbeat and a busy little baby something or other. While we could see shadows in the gender-revealing vicinity, there was nothing to help us say for sure what the baby is. But here's the first published photo of Brunjes Baby #3.

Sorry to hear you're on bedrest, but I'm glad things look fine. I bet it's a girl too. Usually boys aren't to hard to tell.
