Jonathan and a friend of his from class, Brian, had to make up a "trip" day for school, something when they get outdoors and do something recreational. Since the semester's winding down, they were getting desperate, so they decided to take advantage of the weather to take their families up the canyon and play in the snow and have a campfire. We had hot dogs and chips for lunch and then played around for awhile. At first it was windy and cold, but the fire helped a bit, and by mid-day the wind had died down and it really was perfect--and beautiful!
I wasn't as prepared as I should have been with gloves and boots for everyone, but we made it work with socks on my hands, and one glove for Colby. Bailey had the works, and she probably would have stayed there for hours longer!
Because they needed to go on a hike, Jonathan and Brian and I walked up the road a bit from where we were to look at another potential campsite for future outings. The snow was so recent that there were no footprints or tire tracks or anything up there, and it was gorgeous. I didn't have my nice camera, but I was pleasantly surprised by some of the pictures I got from my regular little point-and-shoot!

nice pics!! It'll be fun to freeze our butts off for Christmas IF we can have snow to play in. Neither of my kids ever remember seeing it. Noah may not have seen it before anyway.
