So, a couple months ago at the hair salon, I asked my stylist about getting some highlights (yeah, I used to actually have real-life blonde hair), because that's usually what I do to try and revert back to my youth; but she suggested that maybe I should try going brunette for a change, because my hair and roots are getting so much darker. I asked Jonathan about it, and he thought it sounded interesting, but we decided to try and do it at home rather than at the salon. Our first try was in December, and my hair hardly changed at all. In fact, most people didn't even notice, including my own brother, who saw me within an hour of it being dyed. It was at least all one color, though, rather than dirty-dishwater-gray-with-blonde-highlights, like it's been the past couple of years.
Anyway, this week my roots were already growing back out darker than the dye, so I decided to try going ONE SHADE darker. It definitely made a difference, since now I'm officially a brunette. Jonathan likes it, but otherwise the reviews have been fairly negative. Cliff says it looks fake, Camille says it looks greenish (at least under flourescent lights), my mom says you should never dye your hair while you're pregnant, and nobody else has said anything. Since it's not subtle enough not to notice, I'm assuming that means people are keeping silent because they don't like it and they're not going to lie.....which, by the way, I appreciate. I hate false flattery.
So now's your chance to give some feedback! (I've hesitated to have Jonathan take any pictures, because any picture of my hair will involve a shot of the evil double chin I've developed during this pregnancy, but I finally decided to get over it and show people what I've done to myself! :-)) Please let me know what you think--and don't be afraid of hurting my feelings! I want to hear the TRUTH!

I LIKE IT!!! I think you could have no hair and still be pretty! I think it is fun to try something new! You look so sad in the second pic though =(. Cute. I want to try going darker!
I really like it. the cut is great also.
I think it looks very cute. My hubby says the blonde looks better though. Since I have always known you with blonde, I am loving the new color!!!
Does it really matter what others think? I say if your husband likes it who cares!:) Honestly Amber you could pull anything off.
I like it! To me it looks natural like you have always been dark. Although I haven't seen you under floresent lights :)
I like it. I think it makes you look more like your mom and Camille since they are the ones that normally have brown hair. When I think about you, though, I will think of blonde Amber.
I think it looks good. It matches your eyebrows and is not too dark. You know your family is always your hardest critics because they will perpetually think of you as whatever your hair color was when you were a kid. I am convinced that is why my mom hates when I dye my hair. She still thinks I am a blonde!
I like it, it looks good on you. Just a little tip when you're going from blonde to brown you need to have some red in the color or your hair will turn green. So the next time you color your hair get a brown that has red in it and that should take care of the green.
I like it. Really. It doesn't look fake -the brother probably just isn't used to seeing your hair so dark. I think it's fun to change up the hair. You can always change it to something else later. Now, if I can get the guts to do something different with mine... it's time.
I think you look great Amber! I like it better than before for sure! You sexy mama!
You look beautiful with brown hair...love it!
before i even read this blurb I saw some pictures and was dying over how cute it looked on u!!! i love it!
I like it! Espescially the two pics your chose for this entry! But yeah, I am with mom on not dying while you're prego... no one knows if anything happens. So you're probably fine. I just never have done it. Cute cute!
